I have recently moved to Madrid and will be here until next April/May. Does anyone have any good travel suggestions and the best way to see other towns or cities in a weekend? All suggestions appreciated :)

Why would you not like to just live there? It's what I did. I fell in love with the country and culture after my vacation there. I then came back to buy some property. Three years ago, I quit my well-paying job in the heart of New York City and decided that I wanted to move to Spain. Leaving all of my family and friends behind, I did the research, took the necessary steps, secured a job and made the move to start teaching English. It was a funny coincidence that in my spam box I had an email from https://www.realestateespanol.com/ which only made me want to move even more. Now, when I made the decision, I knew that being a teacher wasn’t what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, but I knew it would allow for me to live in a country I love. Obviously, I am still in search of a good job, but that's not the point anyway.

Travelling Spain from Madrid

I've just moved to Madrid and from what I've heard there are lots of places you can visit easily from Madrid. Immediately outside of Madrid there are various mountains to trek and explore which is a great option if you like to keep active, meet new people and are on a budget.
Also because Madrid is fairly central, i believe you can catch fast trains to most major cities.
I've traveled from Valencia to Madrid and back again last summer this way and it was very comfortable and quick (just over an hour if I remember correctly). I think now I'm living and working in Madrid I think I am going to try and do a weekend trip to Barcelona so if anyone has any advice on what i should do, see or stay when I get there, that would be greatly, appreciated!Don´t forget to visit Córdoba

From Madrid you can easily access by road (about 3 hours) or direct train to Cordoba (less than 2h), one of the most beautiful cities in Andalusia, and whose most important monuments have been declared of cultural interest by UNESCO. Not forgetting its exquisite dishes and magnificent Cordovan patios.
I leave you a free tourism website (https://sientecordoba.com/en/) where you can find all the information regarding Córdoba (transport, completely free audio guides, restaurants, events ...).
I hope you enjoy your stay in this city as much as I enjoyed it :)
